Customer Reviews

"Been here 2 or 3 times over the past couple of years when we're in the area. NEVER disappointed in their service and quality. I've tried something different every time and it's always slap yo grandma good. Keep it up Bubba!"

- Aaron

"The food was excellent. I got a burnt end burger without the bun and American fries. We also got the burnt end flat bread, which is like a pizza. The sauce on that was too sweet, but the side of Mac and cheese was awesome! They had a lot of Gluten Free menu items, but I didn't ask about cross contamination."

- Amy F.

"Melanie was amazing. The food was so so good. We tried the burnt ends. Ribs and cat fish. All great. The sides are all spot on as well."

- Rachel D.

"Great food, it was made fast since it wasn't busy and the wait staff were excellent at their job and friendly. The theme of this place is a bit gritty and weathered, if you're a clean freak this might bother you, but the food is worth it. The applesauce was really made by hand, even had pieces of apple in it that weren't fully mashed when it was cooked, tasted great, no complaints. If you want in check their busy hours on Google peak hours they get packed on weekends."

- Trevor S.

"Food was absolutely delicious The beans are a favorite "

"First time in Ottumwa, hotel recommended this place, so thinking it would be good. The menu is very large, so I ordered a specialty burger w fries... they don't have fryers, so waitress explained they have home style potatoes so when our food arrived, those potatoes were barely warm, and so greasy looking. She asked how things were tasting so I told her I didn't like the potatoes. She offered me something else, so I got coleslaw. It just wasn't for us, it actually reminded me of a lower version of Famous Dave's."

- Laurna H.

"Food is pretty good. Service was very very bare. Our server only came to our table like 2 times. We were there for about an extra 20-30mins bc our server"
